Anna University of Technology, Coimbatore is an affiliating type of university by an act of section of 54 of the Anna University Coimbatore act, 2006. (Tamilnadu Act No. 42 of 2006). The Government of Tamilnadu established the Anna University Coimbatore on 01-02-2007.

Anna University of Technology, Coimbatore has 3 government Engineering colleges, 2 Govt aided engineering colleges and 98 self financing engineering colleges and 15 stand alone institutions under its fold. About 80000 aspiring engineering graduates study in these institutions. 80% of the Students come from rural Background.

It offers higher education in Engineering, Technology, Management and allied Sciences relevant to the current and projected needs of the society. Besides promoting research and disseminating knowledge gained there from, it fosters cooperation between the academic and industrial communities.

Placement

The Centre for University Industry Collaboration mainly focuses on the following domains:

• Campus Placement for Engineering / Management Students,
• Interaction between Institute and Industry,
• Training Programmes for students on core competency development

Memorandum of Understanding: 

The Centre has also been instrumental in forging many MoUs with various Industries and Research and Development Establishments. This MoUs will enhance the students on Internship training, Placement, Industrial readiness, Professional competencies, and also to improve their soft skills. 

MoU with ICTACT: 

Anna University of Technology, Coimbatore has signed a MoU with ICT Academy of Tamilnadu, with the main objective of training the faculty members of Anna University of technology, Coimbatore and its affiliated colleges. 

ACTIVITIES OF THE C.U.I.C

1. Conducting Programmes for the benefit of the students on Improving Communication skills, Assertiveness, Developing Leadership Qualities and Motivation.
2. Organizing on-campus / off-campus interviews for the final year students & graduates.
3. Meeting / Seminars / Workshops are conducted to keep in touch with recent trends in various technologies by resource persons from corporate & academic segments.
4. Frequent programs are organized in coordination with IT industries to bridge the gap between Industry and University.
5. To impart soft skills to the students, various professional development programmes are carried out.
6. Building strong tie-ups with IT & other core companies to improve University-Industry interaction.
7. Organizing need-based Training in the latest Software tools, Mainframe Computer Training and other Orientation programmes for various Departments.

PLACEMENT ACTIVITIES

The aim and objectives of CUIC are to provide jobs for the students of UG & PG Programmes in the departments of Anna University of Technology and its affiliated colleges.

Students passed out from the University Campus have been employed in various reputed companies across the globe. To name a few - City Union Bank, Cap Gemini, Asian Paints, Bajaj Capital, India Infoline, Gemini Communication. The centre also extends its versatile support to the students of affiliated colleges under the fold of this AUT CBE through Common Placement Programmes and have created employment opportunities in majestic firms like Wipro, Honeywell, TCS, CTS, Mastak and so on.
