Central Police organisation S.I Exam Notification 2013

Central  Police organisation (Sub-Inspector) Exam abbreviated as CPO (S.I) is conducted by SSC  on the National level to recruit  the required number of candidates to the post of Sub Inspector in various Central Governmental Police  organization like CRPT, ITBP, CBI, SSB, CISF ,BSF etc. As the exam is conducted on the National Level this exam catches the attention of large number of aspirants who want to be the part of this organization on priority basis.

Eligibility :

The candidates must satisfy the following eligibility criteria to appear for the exam:-

·         Educational Qualification –Graduation from any recognized university or  equivalent . Candidates who have appeared for the final year degree exam and is awaiting for the result can also  take the exam.

·         Age- Aspiring candidates should be between 20 to 25 years of age.

·         Nationality – The candidates should be an Indian.

 Exam Syllabus :

The SSC CPO (S.I) Exam have:

1)      PAPER  1: General Studies

                    i.            General Intelligence and Reasoning – This part would  include questions  from both verbal and non-verbal parts. The test will include questions from analogies,Similarity and differences ,Space Visualization problem solving analysis judgment ,decision making visual memory discriminating observation, relationship concepts , arithmetical reasoning verbal and figure classification arithematical number series non verbal series etc. The test will also include questions to test candidates ability to deal with abstract ideas and symbols and their relationship  ,arithmetical computation and other analytical functions.

                  ii.            General Knowledge and General Awareness -  Questions in this section will aim at testing candidates general awareness of the environment around them and its application to the society. The questions in this section will also aim to test candidates in the field of  knowledge  of current events and of such matter of everyday observation and experience in the scientific aspects as may be expected from an educated person.the test will also include questions related to India and its neighboring countries especially pertaining to History, Culture ,Geography ,economic scene ,General Polity and Scientific research.

                iii.            Numerical Ability/Quantitative Aptitude – In this section the questions will be designed to test the ability of the candidates in appropriate use of numbers and the number sense of the candidates. The scope of the test will be the computation of Whole numbers, decimals and fractions and relationship between numbers ,decimals and fractions and also the relationship between numbers. It will  test the sense of order of magnitude, estimation for the solution of real life problems and knowledge of alternative computation procedure to find the answers.

                 iv.            English comprehension

2)      PAPER  2 :English Language and English Comprehension

                                i.            English Language and English Comprehension- In this section the candidates will be mainly tested in simple and plain use of English language and clarity of expressionand also effective communication with due economy of words.

Exam Pattern :

For PAPER 1:

Part  A –

Ø  Subject: General Intelligence and Reasoning

·         No. of Questions : 50

·         Maximum Marks :50

·         Time allowed :2 Hrs  (10:00 am to 12 :00 pm)

Part B  –

Ø  Subject: General Knowledge  and General Awareness

·         No. of Questions : 50

·         Maximum Marks :50

·         Time allowed :2 Hrs  (10:00 am to 12 :00 pm)

Part  C –

Ø  Subject: Quantitaive Aptitude

·         No. of Questions : 50

·         Maximum Marks :50

·         Time allowed :2 Hrs  (10:00 am to 12 :00 pm)

Part  D –

Ø  Subject: English Comprehension

·         No. of Questions : 50

·         Maximum Marks :50

·         Time allowed :2 Hrs  (10:00 am to 12 :00 pm)

For PAPER 2 :

Part A –

Ø  Subject: English Language and English Comprehension

·         No. of Questions : 200

·         Maximum Marks :200

·         Time allowed :2 Hrs  (2:00 pm to 4 :00 pm)

Important Note:

PAPER 2 is evaluated for only those candidates who have qualified in PAPER 1(Objective type papers )

After clearing written test candidates need to clear Physical Efficiency ( Endurance ) Test (PET).

The last step is Personality Test/ Interview .

 

Exam Date:

SSC CPO (S.I) exam is generally held in the month of May.

Date of Notification- 2nd March,2013

Last Date for filling up of Application form- 29th March,2013

Date of Exam -26th May, 2013

Exam Fee :

General / OBC candidates have to pay Rs 100 as the exam fees whereas female and SC/ST candidates are exempted from the exam fees.

The fees can be deposited in the form of CRF stamp in case of off-line submission or through SBI Challan or it can be online payment through State Bank of India.

Exam Centres :

Most of the major cities of the country are made the test centres  for the SSC CPO(S.I) Exam.
