Anand Agriculture University was started in 1-May-2004 under Gujarat act no.5 of 2004.

Sardar Vallabh Bhai Patel (Iron Man of India) paved the foundation in Ananda for the rural education and research institution for the upliftment and enhancing the skills of the farmers and their future generation in 1936. 

Presentle seven colleges, seven research centres and six extension education centres are working in six different districts of Gujarat which include Ahmedabad, Anand, Vadodra, Dahod, Kheda and Panchmahal.
