Mahendra Engineering College, Namakkal was established by Mahendra Educational Trust (MET). The College was started in 1995 with three branches of engineering, namely B.E.Computer Science Engineering, B.E. Electronics and Communication Engineering and B.E. Mechanical Engineering, approved by AICTE and affiliated to the University of Madras. The College is an ISO 9001 - 2000 Certified Institution and, B.E. Electronic and Communication Engineering and B.E.Mechanical Engineering Programmes are accredited by the National Board of Accreditation (NBA). Also, B.E. Computer Science and Engineering, B.E.Electrical and Electronics Engineering, and B.Tech Information Technology were inspected by an Expert Committee of NBA during the month of March and the grant of accreditation is awaited.
The placement cell has been very active in preparing and molding its students to face up to the challenges of a very competitive career environment. The placement cell provides guidance about choosing their careers to its students. It also provides useful tips for compiling an effective resume and to attend interviews confidently. The placement cell arranges classes for improving the communication skills, personality development and interacting skills of its final year students. The placement cell arranges campus interviews with various companies.
