Model engineering college was established in the year 1990 in Kerala. This institute provides all round development for students in the field of engineering. The institute provides Full time engineering degree for student in the field of computer science, information technology, civil engineering, mechanical engineering, electronic and communication engineering and electrical engineering. The faculties are well qualified and are very much helpful. The college contains a central library which has around 20000 volumes of books with separate place for group discussion. For admission allotment to 85% seats of the annual intake is made by Commissioner for Entrance examination (CEE), Government of Kerala from the rank list of Kerala Engineering Entrance examination conducted every year by Govt. of Kerala.
