1. KALIBANGA MUSEUM, FAMOUS for HARAPPAN ARTEFACTS, REOPENS
· The Kalibanga museum in Hanumangarh district of Rajasthan was reopened after one-and-a-half year.
· This museum has artifacts from the early Harappan civilisation of 3000 to 2700 B.C in the region.
· The exhibits include Harappan seals, bangles, terracotta objects and figurines, bricks, grinders, stone balls, and the well-known six fabric pottery repertoire from the pre-Harappan levels of Kalibangan.
· It was established in 1983 to showcase materials which were found during excavations conducted between 1961 and 1969 at the Harappan site.

2. SURVIVAL OF NEWBORNS: INDIA RANKS LOWER THAN SOMALIA
· In the Global Burden of Diseases (GRB) ranking for healthcare access and quality (HAQ), India has fallen 11 places, and now ranks 154 out of 195 countries.
· Last year India’s rank was 143 among 188 countries.
· India’s healthcare index of 44.8 is the lowest among the sub-continental countries.
· The top-ranked nation was Andorra with an overall score of 95 and lowest-ranked nation was Central African Republic at 29.

· This study shows that India has failed to achieve healthcare targets like neonatal disorders, maternal health etc.
· Global Burden of Disease study (GBD) is a comprehensive regional & global research program of disease burden that assesses mortality and disability from major diseases.

3. TEJAS ON TRACK
· Tejas to make its first run from Mumbai to Goa on May 22.
· It will run at a speed of 130 kmph.
· It has many modern facilities like automatic doors, Wi-Fi and LCD screens.
· It offers assistance to visually challenged passenger through Braille.
· Some of the novel features include touchless watertaps, water level indicators, hand dryers, bio-vacuum toilets, CCTV cameras, fire and smoke detection and suppression system.
· The coaches of TEJAS have been manufactured in the Indian coach factory, Perambur, Chennai.

4. M.S SWAMINATHAN: THE QUEST FOR A WORLD WITHOUT HUNGER
· A two-part book series on the eminent agricultural scientist Dr. M.S. Swaminathan is released by Prime Minister, Narendra Modi.
· The book on ’50 years of Green Revolution’ is a compilation of selected scientific and popular papers on the green revolution and related topics by M.S Swaminathan.
· It also deals with the transformation of the Green into a Evergreen Revolution.
· The second book, M.S. Swaminathan: A Legend in science and Beyond is a biography of M.S. Swaminathan.
· It deals with his contributions to basic sciences in areas such as cytogenetics, ionizing radiation and chemical mutagens etc.
