1. The Rajasthan Lokayukta and Up­ Lokyuktas (Amendment) Bill has been passed by the Rajasthan assembly to reduce the tenure of the Lokayukta to five years which was eight years previously. 

  • The Bill was presented by Energy Minister B.D. Kalla in the House on behalf of Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot and was passed by voice vote. 
  • The previous BJP government had increased the Lokayukta’s tenure to eight years from five years . 

2.In Tamil Nadu Majority of political parties on  reiterated their opposition to the 10% quota in higher educational institutions for economically weaker sections (EWS) within the general category.

  • Medical Council of India’s offer to increase the sanctioned strength of students in medical colleges by 25% if the State came forward to implement the quota the political parties rejected.

3. Apex court dismissed a plea by the State president of the Kerala unit of the Akhil Bharatha Hindu Mahasabha to allow Muslim women to enter mosques for offering prayers.   

  • Mahasabha claims it is violations of articles 14 and 21

 4.Parliament cleared the Aadhaar and Other Laws (Amendment) Bill, 2019 the bill allows voluntary use of Aadhaar as proof of identity to open bank accounts and mobile phone connections. 

5.The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) board finalised a three year roadmap to improve regulation and supervision, among other functions of the central bank under UTKARSH 2022

  • It is a three­ year road map for medium term objectives to be achieved for improving regulation, supervision of the central bank.

6.Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) has stuck to its earlier recommendation on the forthcoming spectrum auctions.

In this the 5G services also included.

7.D.R.D.O. carried out three successful test of nag missile in pokhran range.

  • It is anti Tank guided missile.
