1. Tamil Nadu: Water Resources Conservation and Augmentation Mission was unveiled by Chief Minister Edappadi K. Palaniswami 

  •  A people’s movement to conserve and manage water and to ensure that there was no water crisis in the future.

 

 

2.Ukraine: Underwent Elections for New Parliament, as Comedian-turned-President Volodymyr Zelensky brought in New Political Members and tried to consolidate power.

  • Zelensky's party is expected to win the largest vote share in the country which is dominated by politicians who grew up in the era of the Soviet Union, marking a New Dawn


3.Jammu & Kashmir: Defense Minister Shri Rajnath Singh inaugurated One-kilometer long Ugh bridge in Kathua district and 617.40 Metre long Basantarbridge in Samba district of Jammu & Kashmir.

  • Applauding the efforts of Border Road Organization (BRO) for construction Minister said BRO has been rendering commendable services through construction and maintenance of roads and bridges in border areas fulfilling the strategic needs of the Defence Forces.

                Appointment and Resignation

4. President  Ram Nath Kovind transfers two Governors and makes four new appointments across six States. 

  • New Governors will be given charge of Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, West Bengal, Bihar, Nagaland, and Tripura. 
  • Madhya Pradesh Governor and former Chief Minister of  Gujarat Shri  Anandiben Patel has been transferred to U.P
  • R.N. Ravi will be appointed as  Governor of Nagaland, he was very much instrumental in talks with Naga Rebel.
  • Former MP and Supreme court senior advocate Jagdeep Dhankhar will be appointed as West Bengal Governor.
  • President is responsible for the appointment of  Governor but Home Ministry Acts as decision-making authority in matters related to appointing of Governors.

5. Rajya Sabha MP D Raja is appointed as the General Secretary of the Communist Party of India (CPI) by replacing S Sudhakar Reddy.

6. R. Ilaiyaraaja Legendary Musician will be Awarded an Honorary Doctorate by Vignan Deemed to be University at Convocation ceremony to be held at campus premises. 


7. S. Sowmya has been chosen for the Sangita Kalanidhi award of the Music Academy this year , she is one of the finest vocalists the Nation has ever seen .

8. Former Three-Time  Delhi Chief Minister and Congress Parties Senior leader  Sheila Dikshit passed away.


9. Former President of BJP, Delhi  Mange Ram Garg passed away. Party leaders mourn his demise.

10.Hima Das wins Gold in 400 m with season-best in Nove Mesto nad Metuji Grand Prix.  

  • M.P. Jabir won the 400m hurdles Gold in 49.66s in Nove Mesto nad Metuji Grand Prix.  
  • Muhammed Anas won 200m SIlver with a timing of 20.95s in Nove Mesto nad Metuji Grand Prix.
