1. The President Ram Nath Kovind inaugurated the World first Youth Summit in New Delhi on 7thSeptember 2019. 

  • It was organized by the Youth Awakening Mission, a youth wing of Paavan Chintan Dhara Charitable Trust, Ghaziabad.  
  • Aim; To work for the betterment and welfare of ourselves, society and country.

2. The Chhattisgarh government announced that land allotment rates in industrial areas will be reduced by 30 percent in the next few months. 

  • The land would be made at cheaper rates, interest subsidy, tax rebates, and several other benefits would be provided for the establishment of food processing, minor forest produce, and herbal-based industries.

3. Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched a slew of metro projects in Maharashtra’s Mumbai and launched a metro coach-built indigenously under the Make in India program, in a visit that comes ahead of the assembly elections scheduled in October.

  • He inaugurated projects worth more than Rs 20,000 crore. He conducted the Bhoomi puja for metro line 10 and line 12 Kalyan-Taloja and the proposed Metro Bhavan in Aarey.

 4. On 8th September every year, International Literacy Day is celebrated to make people know the importance of Literacy for people, communities and societies.

  •  Aim:It aims to combat worldwide problems also to promote illiteracy. The theme for 2019 is Literacy and Multilingualism.

 5. Isro announces the "90-95% of the Chandrayaan2 mission objectives have already been achieved" and that "we should not call the mission failure or setback".

  • The orbiter will have a lifespan of over seven and a half year, which can help to decode the present position of the lander.

 6. Pakistan denied President Ram Nath Kovind the use of Pakistani airspace for his flight to Iceland this month because of India’s continued aggression against Pak and oppression of J&k militants .

  • “We got India’s request for their President’s flight. It was discussed with relevant quarters and decided that enough is enough, no more concessions for India said Pak. 

 7. Odisha government extended free treatment to accident victims in private hospitals .

  • Having trauma care facilities of level­1 standard for 48 hours. 

8. Ram Jethmalani passed away on 8th September early morning at 7: 45 am. He was a renowned lawyer and former union law minister. 

  • He passed away a few days before his 96th birthday on 14 September. Narendra Modi, Amit Shah, and others used Twitter to condole his death. He also served as urban development minister in Atal Bihari Vajpayee NDA Government.

9.  Lasith Malinga took 4 wickets in 4 balls to break a world record.

  • He becomes First ever to take 100  T-20 wickets.
