1. February 13 is being marked as World Radio Day.

This day is being celebrated by UNESCO of the United Nations.

  • This year the day is celebrated under the theme Radio and Diversity.

2 The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare introduced School Health Ambassador initiative.Under the initiative, two teachers in every school are to be made as Health and Wellness ambassador.

  • The program is to be linked with other initiatives such as Eat Right Campaign, Fit India Movement and Poshan Abhiyan.
  • The ambassador is to be trained by the National Resource Group that was constituted by the NCERT.

3.The Union Cabinet approved the protocol to amend the  Double Taxation Avoidance Agreement that was signed between India and Sri Lanka.

  • The DTAA with respect to prevention of fiscal evasion is to be amended.Under the amendment, an anti-abuse provision is to be included.  

4.The Vivad se Vishwas Scheme was given by Finance Minister Nirmala Sitaraman during the Budget 2020-21. 

  • The Union Cabinet approved to make required changes in the Vivad Se Vishwas Bill, 2020 .
  • In order to widen its cover over litigation pending in debt recovery tribunal .
  • The amendment has been introduced in order to widen the scope of the scheme in debt recovery tribunal.

5.The Union Cabinet approved the MoU signed between India and Iceland in fisheries.

  • The countries had signed agreements in September last year  to develop inland fisheries.

  • The countries agreed to create facilities of technical experts and scientists in shore areas and deep sea areas and exchange of scientific research literature, scientific experts in the field of fisheries.
