1.The Ministry of AYUSH is organising State AYUSH and Health Ministers Conference at New Delhi.

  • The AYUSH /Health Ministers along with senior Officers from all the State and UT Government have been invited to participate in deliberation related to issues concerning AYUSH Sector.
  • The main issues which are likely to be discussed in conference are National AYUSH Mission (MAM), Integration of AYUSH services in Ayushman  Bharat, Medicinal Plants, Ayurveda, Siddha, Unani and Homeopathy educational Institutes, Quality Control of Ayurveda, Siddha, Unani and Homeopathy drugs, Drugs Central Sector Schemes and special programmes and projects.  

2.Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (PMJAY) is being implemented through the State Governments/UTs.

  • The State Governments have been given flexibility to implement PMJAY either through insurance companies, or directly through trust/society, or in a mixed mode.
  • The payments for treatment is done on pre-defined package rate basis. Keeping in view the State specific requirements, States/UTs have the flexibility to modify these rates within a limited bandwidth.

3.Shehri Samridhi Utsav, an initiative of Ministry of Housing & Urban Affairs (MoHUA),aims to extend the outreach of Deendayal Antyodaya Mission – National Urban Livelihoods Mission (DAY-NULM), to the most vulnerable, showcase its initiatives and facilitate access of Self-Help Group (SHG) members to the other government schemes.This was launched across the country.


4.National Film Development Corporation of India has been selected as Winner under the Miniratna Category (Category II) by Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME).

  • This has been done as part of endeavour by Ministry of MSME to felicitate select CPSEs to recognize their exemplary work towards promotion of SC/ST entrepreneurs.
  • The performance parameters for the same were procurement from SC/ST entrepreneurs, number of vendor development programmes for SC/ST and number of SC/ST entrepreneurs benefited as per data uploaded on Sambandh Portal.

5.Shri Ashwini Kumar Choubey, Minister of State for Health and Family Welfare chaired the 6th meeting of the Mission Steering Group of the National Health Mission (NHM) in New Delhi.

  • The meeting highlighted that the centre is providing funds to all the 36 states/UTs to provide essential drugs free of cost in public health facilities and to set up IT-backed systems for drug procurement and quality assurance.

6.International Society for Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON)decided to set up a World Heritage Centre housing ‘spiritual camps’ in 45 countries,one of which is to be set up in Mayapur in West Bengal.


7.The Economic Affairs Secretary, Subhash Chandra Garg said that the finance ministry is expecting the GDP growth to reach 7.5 per cent in 2019-20 from 7.2 per cent projected for the current fiscal.


8.The second edition of  World Count festival 2019 was held in Pune, Maharashtra on February 4,2019,

9.The Festival, was hosted by the award -winning screenwriter, author and columnist Advaita Kala

  • This festival is held with a motive to bring together speakers from several socio-political spheres and share their insights on various issues.
  • Pavan Kumar Verma,A career diplomat and famous writer was honored with first Word Smith Award 2019 for his contribution in Indian Literature.

10.P.S. Krishnan, former Secretary of Government of India,was entitled with  K.Veeramani Award for Social Justice 2018 in New Delhi.


11.The President of India, Shri Ram Nath Kovind, presented the Sangeet Natak Akademi Awards for the year 2017 at a function held at Rashtrapati Bhavan on February 06, 2019.

12.Nilambar Acharya, Nepal’s former law minister,was appointed as Nepal’s ambassador to India in Kathmandu.

13.Noted freedom fighter and former Odisha MLA Priyanath Dey passed away in Bhubaneswar.

14.Organizers of the Azerbaijan Grand Prix has extended the contract to host Formula One races in Baku street circuit till 2023.


15.Isacio Calleja who won two league titles with Atletico Madrid and the 1964 European championships with Spain died.
