Kimmins High School

Kimmins High School is a 113 years old premier girls' residential school affiliated to the ICSE. Situated in sylvan surroundings of Panchgani covering 15 acres of land, the school provides ample facilities for study, sport and recreation.

Admission is by application followed by entrance test, interview and then confirmation.

Parents are required to fill in the admission form that can be bought alongwith the prospectus on payment of Rs 100/-. The same should be submitted to the school office with the following enclosures:
• Demand draft for Rs 500/-
• A copy of the recent school report
• A copy of the Municipal birth certificate
• Medical fitness certificate
• The school leaving certificate is to be submitted after admission has been confirmed.

The admission form can be bought alongwith the prospectus or can be downloaded from this site, printed, filled and sent back to the school office.

The school conducts entrance exams between January and May every year for admissions for the coming academic year. Parents are requested to contact the school office for exact fixture list.

school lays emphasis on sports and various other extra-curricular activities. The School employs well-qualified staff to meet the academic and extra-curricular needs of the students.

Tucked away into the curves and turns of the Panchgani hill, the school building merges into the topography of the environment. The school campus is rich in flora and fauna native to Panchgani and Kimmins takes great pride in maintaining the natural surroundings on the campus.

Ms Mini Francis (1967 batch) - is presently in the Indian Administrative Services (IAS)
Mrs. Nandini Charles nee Swarge (1978 batch) - is principal of Vikhe Patil Memorial School, Pune.
Ms. Betty Mathews (1971 batch) - is the Vice Principal of St. Mary's School, Pune.
Rani Abraham, M. Pharm, Associate Director, Clintec International, Regulatory Affairs and Operations, Middle East and North Africa.

There are many other students who have won laurels in many fields, but of whom there is no information. Kimmins invites ex-students to update the school on their whereabouts and accomplishments, so that they can be added to our list of achievers.

 

The school campus abounds in facilities and fixtures to aid and encourage children in their development process. Starting from the heritage building with spacious classrooms complete with individual desks, to the presence of maximum number of working pianos in Panchgani; from the only privately owned skating rink to the in-house bakery that provides the school's entire need for daily bread, the infrastructure has been built and consolidated over the years in a well thought out fashion. More importantly, all of these facilities are in perfectly working order and contribute to smooth daily life in the campus.

The HospitalIn July, 2006, a new school hall was inaugurated by Dr. M. D. David, Managing Trustee of C.M.E.F. Trust, Mumbai.

This hall seats almost 500 people making it possible for parents and friends to enjoy functions in spacious surrounding.

It is also useful for many internal functions.

 Boarders are housed in well equipped dormitories grouped according to their age:
    
Each of the dormitories is under the care and supervision of a resident matron supported by 2 ayahs. Most of the dormitories are connected to each other by way of covered walkways that allow students to move from one to another even during rains. The beds, sheets, cupboards and rooms are kept well maintained and provide hygienic living conditions.
