Simple,, Yaar more the Exposure more the Follower… Cricket is known basically every indian… But Hockey is a different story….Even i don,t know to play hockey….
because its an entertainment…. and because of familiarity…. we know cricket players from the advertisement itself…. but we don’t kw the hockey players of India… because we are not familiar with them… media doesn’t focus on hockey players….
because….in india…..we all like cricket …..and our government is not promoting the game like hockey.. in india we all are crazy about the cricket ……media doesn’t focus on hockey players…in cricket people can get name and fame………but what about the hockey players……?????we should also go for watching……hockey match too….only when conditrion of hockey wold increase…………..

The reason is that no one knows how to play hockey and also there is no proper facilities in schools and colleges to play hockey.
