1.    India-Pak together in SCO counter-terror exercise

• Under the framework of Sanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO), a multi-nation counter terror exercise will be held in September 2018 in Russia.

• The peace mission counter terror exercise will be held in the difficult terrain of Ural Mountains of Russia and all the members of SCO (including the newly joined members India and Pakistan) will take part in the exercise.

• SCO was formed in 2001 and is headquartered in Beijing, China.

• There are eight members in the SCO- China, Russia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, India and Pakistan.

• The objective of this organisation is military cooperation between the members.

 

2.    Ayushman Bharat Diwas: 30th April

• Under Gram Swaraj Abhiyan (GSA) Ayushman Bharat Diwas was celebrated across the country on 30th April.

• The information regarding the Ayushman Bharat Scheme was given to people during health camps organised in the villages.

• The scheme aims to provide easily available and affordable medical treatment in rural and remote areas of the country.

 

3.   Swadesh Darshan Scheme

• It is a scheme of Ministry of Tourism to fund the theme based tourism circuits in India and it is 100% funded by Central Government.

• There are 13 thematic circuits- Buddhist Circuit, North-East India Circuit, Ramayan Circuit, Krishna Circuit, Himalayan Circuit, Tribal Circuit, Coastal Circuit, Spiritual Circuit, Rural Circuit, Desert Circuit, Eco Circuit, Wildlife Circuit and Heritage Circuit.

• To promote wellness, cultural and spiritual tourism in the Krishna Circuit the PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PHDCCI) and the Indian Yoga Association (IYA) have signed a MoU (Memorandum of Understanding).

 

4.    Reporters Without Border

• It is an international non-profit and non-governmental organisation which promotes and defends freedom of information and freedom of press.

• Headquarter of this organisation is in Paris, France and it has consultant status at the United Nations.

• The organisation was founded by Robert Menard and team in 1985.

• It releases World Press Freedom Index annually which is topped by Norway followed by Sweden, Netherland, Finland and Switzerland.

• India is at 138th place in World Press Freedom Index.
