1.     Myanmar joined International Solar Alliance (ISA)

·        Myanmar has become 68th member of International Solar Alliance (ISA).

·        ISA has been formed with an aim to optimum use of solar energy.

·        The alliance was launched jointly by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the French President Francois Hollande at the Paris Climate Summit 2015.

·        The alliance is opened to join by all the 121 member countries between tropic of cancer and tropic of Capricorn.

 

2.     BIMSTEC in Nepal this year

·        Bay of Bengal Initiative for Multilateral Technical and Economic Cooperation (BIMSTEC) Summit will be held from 30-31 August 2018 in Nepal this year.

·        BIMSTEC is mainly focused for sub-regional connectivity and poverty alleviation.

·        BIMSTEC was formed in 1997 having members Bangladesh, India, Myanmar, Sri Lanka, Thailand, Bhutan and Nepal.

 

3.     BJP wins trust of Parliament

·        Bhartiya Janta Party (BJP) led NDA government defeated the non-trust motion brought by Telgu Desam Party (TDP).

·        Modi led Union Government got 325 votes while opposition got only 126 votes.

·        Non-trust motion is brought to prove majority by the incumbent government.

 

4.     Centre for Climate Change by NABARD

·         National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD) has launched a centre to accelerate the action climate change by various stakeholders including government, financial sectors and private players.

·         The Centre has been set-up in Lucknow.

·         It will help in project preparation and capacity building in developing countries in the region and in Africa also.
