 1.        First State-run-all-women hotel in Karnataka

·     Kerala Tourism Development Corporation (KTDC) will launch India’s first public sector hotel entirely run by women.

·     It will for women in the State’s capital city, Thiruvananthapuram.

·     The name of this hotel will be “Hostess”.


2.        Inner Line of Permit (ILP)

·     It is an official travel document issued by the Government of India to permit inward travel of an Indian citizen into protected areas.

·     ILP is operational in Arunachal Pradesh, Mizoram and Nagaland.

·     Recently Manipur passed People’s Protection Bill which is similar to ILP.

·     According to the bill entry and exit of outsiders will require permit like ILP.

·     1951 is the base year for such distinction, Meitis, the Pangal Muslims, scheduled tribes as listed under the Constitution for Manipur and citizens of India living in Manipur before 1951will be considered as Manipur people.


3.        Deep Ocean Mission

·      Ministry of Earth science has published Deep Ocean Mission.

·     It will explore deep-ocean by emulating success of Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) in launching satellites and designing.

·     Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ) of India is of the size over 2.2 million sq. km which is unexplored.

·     Central government will spend 8000 crore for this mission in the next five year.

·     Deep sea mining, underwater vehicles, under water robotics and ocean climate change advisory services are the priority areas of this mission.


4.        India’s first Mobile Open Exchange Zone in Noida

·      PM Modi laid foundation for the country’s first Mobile Open Exchange (MOX) Zone in Noida, UP.

·     MOX is a dedicated system for mobile industry which will provide integrated platform to mobile manufacturers, R&D and allied industries.

·     The Zone will attract investment and technology.

·     It will bring handset manufacturers, service providers, retailers and distributors at one place.


5.        Third BRICS film festival in Durban

·      Third BRICS film festival has been concluded in Durban, South Africa along with the International Durban Film Festival.

·     “Newton” is conferred best film while “Village Rockstars” got two awards.

·  Bhanita Das got best actress award.

·     BRICS film festival is celebrated to motivate for the production of world-class film productions from the BRICS nations.
