1.     Indian Ocean conference in Vietnam

·      Vietnam’s capital Hanoi will host the third edition of Indian Ocean Conference.

· The theme of this two day conference (27-28 August) is “Building Regional Architecture” particularly in the area of trade and commerce, security and governance.

· The conference was started in 2016 and Singapore and Sir Lanka hosted first and second edition of the conference respectively.


2.        Governors of different states Update

· Satya Pal Malik is the new governor of J & K. He was governor of Bihar till recent.

· Lalji Tondon is the new governor of Bihar.

· Satyadev Narayan Arya is the new governor of Haryana after replacing Kaptan Singh Solanki.

· Kaptan Singh Solanki is the new governor of Tripura.

· Baby Rani Maurya is the new governor of Uttarakhand.

· Ganga Prasad is the new governor of Sikkim.

· Tathagat Roy is the new governor of Meghalaya.

· Anandiben Patel will be in the charge of governor of Chhattisgarh.


3.        Asian Games Update

·     Fouaad Mirza won silver medal in the individual equestrian even at Asian Game.

·     Indian team also bagged silver medal in the equestrian team event.

·    Indian sprinter  Dutee Chand won silver medal in 100 m dash on her debut event at Asian Game.

·    Hima das won silver medal in 400m as she completed the race in just 50.59 second.

·  Yahiya Muhammad Anas won silver medal in men’s 400 m final athletic event.

·   Tajinder Singh Toor won gold medal in the men’s shot put in the Asian Game 2018.


4.        One liner Current Affairs

· Punjab National Bank (PNB) has been ranked as the best Public Sector bank in the overall digital transactions category in India.

 · G. Satheesh Reddy has been appointed as Chairman of Defense Research Development Organization (DRDO).

· India’s first biofuel flight was conducted by Spice Jet from Dehradun to Delhi.       

· INS Vikramaditya will be fitted with marine hydraulic system to boost the air operations of the ship. INS Vikramaditya is the India’s only aircraft carrier.

· Bombay Natural History Society (BNHS) will open its first regional centre near Chilika Lake of Odisha.
