1.     Clean Air India

·      The initiative is a collaborative project of Get In The Ring, the government of Netherlands, Start-up India and INDUS forum.

· The initiative aims to curb air pollution in Indian cities by promoting partnerships between start-ups and Dutch company.

· The initiative will drive the innovation start-ups that would be tackling air pollution by implementing innovations into their current business.


2.        Amravati Bonds listed in BSE

· Amravati Bond 2018 have been listed on Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE).

· It has been issued by Andhra Pradesh Capital Region development Authority (APCRDA).

· The bond will be used to build Andhra Pradesh’s Capital Amravati.


3.        Catastrophe bonds

·     Catastrophe bonds are issued by insurance companies having exposure to property and calamity insurance.

·    The idea for such bonds came on the wake of hurricane ‘Andrew’ that hit Florida in 1992.

·    Such bonds provide a market mechanism for the relief of people in timely manner.

·   In the initial year of 1998-2001 the bonds were of the value $1- 2 billion and currently the market is of $30 billion.

· Recent catastrophic flood of Kerala has given idea to introduce such bonds in India.


4.        One liner Current Affairs

· P. V. Sindhu got silver medal while Saina Nehwal got bronze medal in the women’s single badminton event at Asian Games.

· Neeraj Chopra became the first Indian Javelin thrower to win a gold medal in Asian Games.

 · Sudha Singh won silver medal in the event of women’s steeplechase.

 · Satya S Tripathi has been appointed as Assistant Secretary General of the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP).

· Neena Varakil won silver in women’s long jump event at the Asian Game 2018.
