1.     Asian Games 2018

·      18th Asian Games held in Indonesia and it is also known as Jakarta-Palembang 2018.

·    Opening and Closing ceremonies were held at Gleora Bung Karno Main Stadium in Jakarta.

·     First time, Asian Game was hosted by two cities Jakarta and Palembang.

·     The game was officially opened by the Joko Widodo, the President of Indonesia.

·     eSports and Canoe polo were contested as demonstration sports.

·     Asian Games 2014 was held in Incheon, South Korea and Asian Games 2022 will be held in Hangzhou, China.

·    Three unique mascots of Asian Games 2018 are – Bhin-Bhin, Atung and Kaka.

·    There were 45 participant nations and 462 events were conducted in total 40 games.

·    Susi Susanti, a retired Indonesian badminton Player, was the torch lighter of the game.

·    Neeraj Chopra was the flag bearer from India for the opening ceremony.

·    For closing ceremony Women World Hockey Team Captain of India Rani Rampal was the flag bearer.

·  China with 132 gold medals topped while India with 15 gold medals remained at 8th position.

 · Bajrang Punia and Vinesh Phogat won gold medal in wrestling.

· Saurabh Chaudhary, Rani Sarnobat won gold medal in Shooting while Shardul Vihan and Deepak Kumar won silver medal.

· Swarn Singh, Dattu Bhokanal, Om Prakash and Sukhmeet Singh won gold medal in Men’s quadruple sculls.

· Rohan Bopanna and Divij Sharan won gold medal in Men’s doubles Lawn Tennis.

· Tajinderpal Singh Toor won gold medal in Men’s Shot Put event.

· Neeraj Chopra won gold medal in Men’s Javelin Throw event and this is only second medal in javelin throw as Gurtej Singh won a bronze in New Delhi in 1982.

· Arpinder Singh won gold medal in Men’s triple jump.

· Manjit Singh won gold medal in Men’s 800m event.

· Swapna Barman won gold medal in Women’s heptathlon.

· Jinson Johnson won a gold medal in Men’s 1500 meters.

· Hima Das, M. R. Poovamma, Saritaben Gayakwad and V. K. Vismaya won gold medal in Women’s 4×400 relay event.

· Amit Panghal won gold medal in Light flyweight (49 kg) boxing event.

· Pranab Bardhan and Shibhnath Sarkar won gold medal in Men’s pair Bridge event.

· Indian Women National Kabaddi team won silver medal.

· Fouaad Mirza won silver medal in equestrian individual event.

· Fouaad Mirza, Rakesh Kumar, Ashish Malik and Jitendra Singh won silver medal in equestrian team event.

· Hima Das won silver medal in Women’s 400 meters event.

· Dutee Chand won silver medal Women’s 100 meters race.

· Dharun Ayyasamy won silver medal Men’s 400 meters hurdles.
