  1. Naidu launches ‘Bhudhaar’ in A.P

  • A day after the BJP launched its ‘Bhoo raksha deeksha,’ Andhra Pradesh Chief Mi­nister N. Chandrababu Nai­du asserted on Tuesday that lands were safe and protect­ed during the Telugu Desam Party rule.

  • The TDP government had streamlined the land records in the combined Andhra Pradesh, but the subsequent governments “misused the data available in the land records” only to encroach upon the lands with forged documents, Mr. Naidu alleged.

2. Odisha House passes 33% reservation for women

  • It is being viewed as a masterstroke to woo the women voters ahead of the forthcoming elections.

  • There are 12 women legislators in the 147­member State Assembly at present.

3. India, Russia to build stealth frigates

  • India on Tuesday signed a $500 million deal with Russia to locally manufacture two stealth frigates with technology transfer

  • The agreement was signed between Goa Shipyard Limited (GSL) and Rosoboronexport of Russia.

  • “The deal is for material, design and specialist assistance from Russia for the ships. Balance work will be done by GSL, and it will have a whole lot of Indian equipment, including BrahMos missiles,” Shekhar Mital, CMD of GSL

5. HDFC Bank to hike stake in CCIL to 9%

  • HDFC Bank said on Tuesday it will raise its stake in Clearing Corporation of India Ltd. (CCIL) to 9% by acquiring 20 lakh shares of the company.

  •  Non-executive Chairman Ashok Chawla resigned on November 14, 2018. O.P. Bhatt, resigned from the panel set up to find a new CEO, on 15th November 2018.


12. Oscar-winning screenwriter and best-selling author William Goldman passed away

He was 87 years old. He wrote novels and screenplays. He had written screenplays for Marathon Man (1976), Magic (1978) and The Princess Bride (1987).

14. Thalaivas stay alive in the race for playoffs
