Govind Ballah Pant Government Engineering College was established in the April/ May 2007 by the Department of Training and Technical Education of the government of Delhi. The first batchj of this college was established during the year 2007-2008. The governmnet took it's responsibility to make it best and most premier institute of this world by providing high quality education to the students with good educational environment. It was started initially with the 120 students where 60 seats are alloted for each branch in Engineering. The institute is affiliated to Guru Govind Singh Indraprasth University and approved by All India Council of Technical Education (AICTE). I t was established with the vision to adapt itself for the ever changing requirement of society or industry with the mission to produce world class Engineers or Technocrats with high quality education and skills by providing highly qualified and experienced faculty. The inswtitute also conducts various events or activities for the students for their over all personality development of students.

It has edxcellent placemnet record as most of the student of this college got placed in reputated or good organizations according to their eligibility or skills. The placement cell of this college has the aim to place right student for the right job. The training and placement department of this college plays a vital role in placement activities by offering various opportunities such as training and workshops along with their good academics skills for the students. They provide various programmes in parallel to extra lectures to face and interviews confidently. They conducts various pre-placement activities to train the students or to get aware them about the placement process so that they could face their future challenges easily. The mjor recruiters for this college are Horiba, IGL, Synopsis, Kalyani Alstom, CSC, Afcon, Minda , Infosys etc.
