Government College for Women, Parade Ground was established on 1st June 1944 by Mahila Education Society and was known as Maharani Mahila College. Later on 25th Nov 1953, the Governement of J&K took over this college and this college was renamed as Government College for Women Parade, Jammu. This is the only college in Jammu which offers largest number of courses ranging from Arts to Science and Commerce to BCA. The college has 98 teachers in total. The college provides many facilities to its students like hostel facility, a well stocked library, NSS/NCC, dispensary, book shop, canteen and many more.
