Laxminarayan Institute of Technology which was founded in 1942 owes its existence to the munificent donation of the Late Rao Bahadur .The Institute started functioning with seven admissions for a two-year B.Sc. (Tech) course with Chemical Engineering, Chemical Technology and Oil Technology as subjects. Four Year B.Tech. programme is introduced recently in Chemical Technology with specialization branches i.e. Petrochemical Technology, Food Technology, Pulp & Paper Technology, Oil Technology, Plastic & Polymer Technology and Surface Coating Technology with intake capacity of 10 students in each of the branches.
T & P provides necessary guidance to the students in their career planning and helps them in related personality development programmes so that students can be readily accepted by the Industries.About 130 students undergo training at different industrial locations every year. Around 75 to 80 percent students get placement by industries every year.
