Jawaharlal Nehru Government Engineering College

Jawaharlal Government Engineering College, Sundernagar is the only Engineering College of Himachal Pradesh owned and run by State Government. It was established in the Year 2006. Presently this College is temporarily functioning in the campus of Government Polytechnic, Sundernagar which is one of the renowned Polytechnics in India. Government Polytechnic, Sundernagar is an ISO-9001 certified Institute and accredited by NBA.
 
The college has been started with two Degree courses (Bachelor of Engg.) namely, Mechanical Engg. & Textile Engg. with the intake of 40 students each. Some more courses namely, Civil Engineering, Computer Engineering and Electronics & Comm. Engg. are proposed to be started in a phased manner once the College is shifted to its own campus.
 

Placement

 Placement & Training cell has been established in this institute in the year2009. This cell is responsible for providing industrial training to students and organizing campus placement. Cell has organized the industrial training in various reputed organizations like National Thermal Power Corporation, National Hydraulic Power Corporation, Himachal Pradesh State Electricity Board, Satluj Jal Vidut Nigam, Vardhman Textile Ltd., JCT, Winsome Textile Industry etc.
