SRI BALAJI EDUCATIONAL AND CHARITABLE PUBLIC TRUST was formed with noble aim of promoting technical education for the aspiring youth of our country and abroad. Sri Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Engineering And Technology is one of their institutes.

The Building for the college is constructed in an area of 30 Acres of Land at Kirumambakkam, 13 Kms from Pondicherry towards Cuddalore in a beautifully elevated, pollution free surroundings on the East Coast Road. About 2,25,000 Sq. ft. of construction is being done to match International Standards under the advice of Prof. A Mohammed Hans, Director, School of Architecture and Town Planning, Anna University, Chennai. Pondicherry is 145 kms away from Chennai. It is well connected by road and rail. The nearest Airport is Chennai airport and the Railway station is Cuddalore. The Aurobindo Ashram, Auroville and Manakkula Vinayagar Temple are also located in the Union Territory, well known for its weather and conducive learning atmosphere. The college has Spacious Class Rooms, Drawing Hall, good collection of books in the Library, fully Air-conditioned Computer Lab with sufficient infrastructure, well equipped Physics and Chemistry Labs, Basic Workshops, Staff Room, Students Rest Rooms and a Canteen for the use of students and staff.

 

Placement

 

The Training and Placement Cell at RGCET came into existence in the year 2002. Today, Corporates need thinking, flexible, proactive human resources. They need creative problem solvers, smart and skilled enough to move with new technologies and with the ever changing competitive environment. They need personnel accustomed to collaborate with co-employees to participate in quality circles, to deal with people of all classes. Further, communication skills and people skills should be the foremost skills expected from the modern day employees.

The Cell conducts various training sessions for students by bringing into campus a wide spectrum of trainers from the industry to conduct workshops and seminars. The Cell is also responsible for fostering of industry institutional relationship for the College by maintaining a close liaison with the local (Puducherry) chapter of Confederation of Indian Industry (CII).

73.8% of the students have been placed.
