This college was established in the year 2001 under the Bapu Educational Association. It was the first Science College around this region. It was established to fulfill the educational needs of people belongs from both rural as well as urban region. It was affiliated to Mysore University and recognized by U.G.C. Ealier the college named as Gov. Intermediate college started in 1947 but later it was bifurcated into D.R.M.P.U. Science College and D R M Science College in 2001. It provides best faculty who are highly qualified and experienced in their specialized field. It has excellent infrastructure including various modern facilities for the students for their bright or sunshine future.
It has excellent placement record as most of the students of this college got placed in good or reputated organizations according to their skills or eligibility. The placement cell helps students in their placement related activities by all possible way. The faculty assigned for the students to help in their placement activities are highly qualified and experienced. They conducts various pre-placement activities to train students for their better future placement or to get them aware about the placement process.
