G.Narayanamma Institute of Technology & Science (For Women), sponsored by G.Pulla Reddy Charities Trust was started on 15th December 1997. Sri G.Pulla Reddy is an eminent business man of great integrity and impeccable reputation. His business of vending sweets of surpassing taste and purity has earned him celebrity status all over the state of Andhra Pradesh. Though poorly educated by modern standards he has become an educationist par excellence by starting number of educational institutions of varied hue in his native district of Kurnool and in Hyderabad. He is the Chairman of G.Pulla Reddy Charities Trust and under his benign and pragmatic guidance the G.Narayanamma Institute of Technology & Science (for women) has recorded phenomenal growth in a short span. The vital role played by the women in the society and the increased awareness and empowerment of women has motivated the Charities Trust to start an engineering college exclusively for women, on 15th December 1997.
A full-fledged training and placement cell exists in the college. The main objective of this cell is to: -

This cell, was headed by Late Mr. Roopesh Sengupta (August'2004 - August'2010), who has spent his best six years of life in GNITS and worked dedicatedly for the development of the college and students. Presently headed by Siddhartha Ghosh, Assoc. Prof. CSE and supported by T. Surya Prakash, Asst. Prof. EEE. The cell not only arranges for professional skills training programme for the students but also takes care to provide opportunities to them in the form of campus interviews.
The campus interviews for the present final year will be commencing soon. Most of the companies have expressed their desire to visit the institute in the Final Semester in December 2010 To make the students succeed in huge numbers in the campus interviews, a Pre Placement Training Program of 40 hours duration was already conducted in June - July 2010. For 2006 – 2010 Batch: The passed out students had 22 companies till end of July 2010. A total of 254 offers had been made by companies like Accenture, ADP, Apps Associates, Areva T & D, Broadcom, BTBP, Capgemini, CMC, Convergys, Deloitte, DuPont, HP, HSBC, Infosys, MAQ Software,OSI Technologies, Redpine Signals, Satyam BPO, Sonata, TCS, Value Labs and Virtusa. The Training & Placement cell, with the help of other departments of the college, was instrumental in arranging the SEVENTH ALUMNAE ASSOCIATION MEET. This meet was conducted on Ist january 2011. All the students who have passed out from the college right from the first batch of 2001 were invited. In whole 155 Alumnae members attended the meet. The first Saturday of January, every year is fixed for the ALUMNAE ASSOCIATION MEET. The next meet is on 7th January 2012. |
