It was established in the year 1961 as the State College of Sports with the objective of producing sportsmen who would fly the Indian Tri-color at the world Olympics and the International sports meets also giving them regular education to make them or to enable them to find respectable placements in the saociety. It is one and only one college of this type in the Asia. The students who were admitted given them free boarding, Lodging and education with excellent facilities for various sports. Apart from these it also provides Arts and Science subjects as well and provides B.A/B.Sc degree. Along with these all facilities the college provides excellent infrastructure including various facilities which are necessary for the students. It also conducts various extra-curricular activities for the over all development of students or for their bright future. It provides highly qualified and experienced faculty for the students.
