It is a first Medical School in the South region of Indian state Kerala which was established in 1951. It was established with the motto of imparting high quality based education in the medical field to the students and to offer comprehenssive health care for women and children. This institution is affiliated to University of Kerala which is newly formed as a Kerala University Health Sciences.
