The Himachal Pradesh University was fonded on july 22,1970.it is located at Summer Hill which is at a distance of 5kms.from the main town.It firmly believes in what INDIA's prime minister Jawahar Lal Nehru said in his convocation "A University stands for Humanism,for tolerance,for region,for progress,for the adventure of ideas,and for the search for the truth.This university belives that they are not creating machines but the educated human beings so that they can contribute in welfare of their nation.
