In year 1986 Mechanical Engineering branch is introduced in this college with admission in 30 seats. Then in year 2000 Electronics & Telecommunication engineering and Information Technology engineering branches introduced with the intake of 30 seats in each branch. In year 1992 admission to Civil Engineering branch was stopped by state government. From Session 2005-06 introduction of Electrical Engineering branch with 30 seats and admission in Civil Engineering branch with 20 seats has been started. 

 

Government engineering college Jagdalpur has only administrative building, new workshop building, old workshop building & old hostel building. In which best efforts have been made to manage classes and laboratories for the students of all running departments. College has one 144 seated boy's hostel. One girl's hostel with 100 seat is likely to be completed and soon going to be handed over to college. For the teachers and staff college has one B-type, one C-Type, three D-Type, Four E-type, Fourteen F-Type, Two G-Type, Four H-Type and Five I-Type Quarters. 

 

College has its own water supply system for the institute, hostel and residential quarters. Government engineering college Jagdalpur is situated very near to village Negiguda so problem of encroachment to college land by villagers and harm to institute plantation by villagers and their cattle is being faced. A protective boundary wall is required to prevent above losses. College has no academic building for any department so college urgently requires academic buildings. College has one Bus, one gipsy and one Bolero jeep. One Mini bus (35 Seated) is required.
