Rajkiya Kanya Maha Vidyalaya, Shimla was established in 1977. This is the only Government Girls College in Himachal Pradesh. This college is highly reputed and is one of the premier colleges of women in Northern India. The college initially started with 919 students on roll and the number has now increased upto 3500. The institution offers bachelors degree in Arts, Science and Commerce. The college also provides many facilities to its students like scholarships, a well stocked computerised library, hostel facility, canteen, dispensary, computer laboratories, internet, PCO and banking facilities.
