Engineering is a broad discipline encompassing wide range of skills and a wealth of knowledge. With the improvement in technology, the engineer's requirement today is not only to deal with complex mathematical problems but to think logically and develop solutions to various engineering issues also through Information Technology. The emphasis of the courses now is to evolve skills and craftsmanship to meet a higher degree of knowledge and excellence. The SCOPE College of Engineering works with a vision to transform its students into competent, inspired and professional engineers.
Placement
It is our vision that every engineer produced by SCOPE should emerge as a finished product ready to be employed by the industry, acting as a problem-solver and at the same time be able to communicate well with his/her peers.
In order to achieve this vision, we firmly believe that the Training & Placement Cell must become an integral part of the college. The college provides complete infrastructure for effective functioning of the cell.
The various activities, which the cell intends to focus on regularly would include placement for students, entrepreneurship awareness & development programs, organizing guest lectures of experts from the industry & other institutions, personality development programs etc.
The placement cell at SCOPE intends to function with a full-time dedicated placement officer, who would continuously monitor the employment potentials and arrange campus interviews for students. The placement officer would also maintain a consistent communication with leading companies. The office would also keep close liaison with various industrial establishments (both private and public sectors), which conduct campus interviews and select graduate and post-graduate students from all disciplines.
The placement office serves merely to bridge the gap between a job-aspirant and a prospective employer, at the same time helps the students to plan their careers by providing in-depth information about the industries which approach the college.
The placement office is assisted by a committee comprising all Heads of Departments and representatives of students from the under-graduate and post-graduate engineering streams.
As far as training of students is concerned, training activities are organized throughout the year in an effort towards preparing the students for campus selection programmes.
The college provides an environment for a holistic personality development. Resource persons and professionals from the field of communication and interpersonal skills are invited to equip our students with necessary soft skills required to face interviews in today's competitive world. Such training exposure gives our students a competitive edge in today's global employment market.
A very strong focus has been on providing training, regarding soft skills and enhancing the employability of the students. Here are is a list of inputs which are provided on regular basis:
Communication Skills
Group Discussions
Training on Software Development
Seminar
In order to improve the general skills of students, studies on advanced and emerging fields like Nanotechnology, utilization of waste material for power generation would also be conducted where students can be actively involved. The students would be trained well in need-based domain knowledge such as C,C++, J2EE, UNIX,Hardware Networking ,JAVA, .NET, Oracle 9i, C# etc., through value added co-curricular activities.
