“A School of Excellence†– Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan’s Vidyashram, NIRD , Rajendranagar, taken its roots from NIRD Primary School, which was inaugurated on 17th March,1985 by Shri Sardar Buta Singh, the Union Minister for Agriculture and Rural Development. The school was handed over to Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, Mumbai on 11th April, 1991 by Shri T.L.Shankar,IAS, Director General, NIRD. The school was established with the objective to ignite the young minds in the pursuit of knowledge. It believes in enabling every child competent enough to face the challenges of modern times. The school had 71 students in the year of its inception but today it has 726 students with 30 staff members.

Library : The school has library facility is available to all bonafide students of the school during the school hours. All classes from class I onwards are provided with at least one library period per week. Students are not allowed to bring their personal books in the library. Students are allowed to borrow books on their own library cards only. Computer Lab : There is a well-equipped computer lab and with latest softwares installed. Computer education is provided from class I onwards. Laboratory Systems : To enhance the learning ability and skills with hands on material, the school has a number of laboratory systems such as: Science Lab & Maths Lab. Games & Sports : The sprawling campus includes a full-sized playground, Cricket pitches for net practices, Volleyball courts, kho-kho and kabaddi courts as also sand-pits, swing, slides and see-saws for the primary students. Table Tennis, Badminton and Carrom are some of other games that absorb the interest of the students.
