New Horizon Public School has highly qualified and well trained teachers who are devoted and dedicated to carry out the mission “Education to Excel”. Our teaching methodology based purely on ‘Continuous and Comprehensive Evaluation’ provides rich opportunities to the learner to explore, investigate and understand new concepts independently. In order to facilitate the facilitators, the following provisions have been made on campus.

To consolidate the understanding of various concepts in language and to hone the four basic skills, a Language Lab has been set up. Core languages like English, Hindi, Sanskrit and Marathi are taught in the school using innovative methods. Power point presentations, flash cards, interactive games, role plays, group discussions, debates and brain storming sessions are a regular feature here. The lab is also equipped with computers with internet facility and LCD projector.
     
         

 
     

   




Computers have made inroads into our culture and our life styles. The school has a well equipped Computer lab (separate for primary and secondary section) with more than 100 computers and internet facility. The school employs highly qualified computer teachers to cater to various needs of the students. Our entire faculty is computer literate and delivers lessons through ICT.
     


         




The school boasts of a well equipped science laboratory with separate Physics (C.V.Raman) room, Chemistry (Prafulla Ray) room and Biology (J.C.Bose) room. Each room has provisions for making observations, experimenting and conducting research. The school believes in providing opportunities ‘to do and learn’ and hence the labs are equipped with computers, over head LCD projectors and all the required specimens, charts, learning aids etc.
     
         

 
The school has recently established a laboratory specifically for the consolidation of mathematical concepts. Abstract concepts of math are made easy by creating real life situations, where the students can correlate between topics learnt and actual situations around them. Games that develop the mental ability of students, hands on activities, case studies for problem solving etc. are part of the lab experiences.

    
Learning centers that cater to the learner’s need for audio visual aids have been set up in the school. The learning centers are equipped with more than 35000 modules of various topics from the curriculum. The students visit the centers on a regular basis and learn various concepts through them. The entire faculty is trained and equipped with skills that are required for the effective delivery of content.
     


A sophisticated library comprising of more than 8000 books is one of the prized assets of the school. The school ensures that the books made available are of high quality – content wise and presentation wise. Recent publications, periodicals, classics, picture books, stories and novels, encyclopedias, journals and reference books are part of the ever growing library

    
The school play ground (5000 sq.mtrs) is home for various games like Foot ball, Hockey, Handball, Kho kho etc. An indoor games room for playing Caroms, Table tennis, Chess etc has been provided. A room especially for Yoga and Gymnastics has also been established. Students have a regular physical education period and weekly activity periods where special coaches for training students for specific games are provided.
     
         

The students who are artistically inclined are given an opportunity to develop their innate talent here. Not only are they motivated to do well, they are also encouraged to participate in inter school competitions, exhibitions etc. Students are also trained for various examinations at the state and national level.
