Government Degree College for Boys, Anantnag was established in the year 1950 as an intermediate college. Later it became a well known degree college of Jammu & Kashmir state. It is one of the premier colleges of South Kashmir and is one of the reputed college of Jammu & Kashmir state which was founded with an aim of imparting quality education among the boys of the state and help them in their overall development. The college offers courses in Science, Humanities and Commerce streams. The college provides many facilities to its students like a well stocked library, fitness centre, hostel facility, career counselling cell, NSS/NCC and many more.
