Mailam Engineering College, a self-financing institution was established in 1998, in Villupuram district, with ISO 9001-2000 Certification.

The college is approved by AICITE, New Delhi and affiliated to the Anna University, Chennai. The college offers five under graduate courses and three post graduate courses.
