Progressive Engineering College, sponsored by S.R.K. Memorial educational society, Hyderabad, was established during the academic year 2002-03 with the approval of AICTE, New Delhi (Vide letter No 730-50-392 E/ET dated 9th June 2002) and recognition of the Government of Andhra Pradesh.

The management members of the college have excellent educational bakground. The society is headed by Sri. M. Uma Maheswara Rao as President an Ms. M. Sharada as Secretary and correspondent. They have excellent track record in education field. Prior to the establishment of Progressive Engineering College, they successfully managed courses like MBA., MCA., M.Sc.,(Comp), B.Sc., B.Com., and B.A. The have also the fruitful experience in managing an academy for coaching the Engineering Graduates, appearing for All India competitive exam like Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE), Indian Engineering Services (IES) conducted by Union Public Service Commission (UPSC).
