The PSR Engineering College came into existence in 1999. Located in Sivakasi (Tamil Nadu), it is managed and run by P.S.R. Ramasamy Telugu Minority Educational and Charitable Trust. The college is an ISO 9001: 2000 certified institution. PSR Engineering College is affiliated to Anna University and approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), Government of India, New Delhi. The college imparts several courses in the field of engineering, at the undergraduate level. It also offers postgraduate courses in management (MBA) and computer applications (MCA). PSR Engineering College provides modern facilities within its campus.
PSR engineering college is one of the well established engineering institutions in south India, Tamilnadu. The courses offered are approved by AICTE, New Delhi and affiliated to Anna University, Chennai. The institution has obtained ISO 9001 : 2000 Certification from Germanischer Lloyd to maintain its standards in technical education. PSREC aims at becoming a deemed university with higher academic excellence and niches in technical education. Its missions are imparting quality technical education, offering a higher level training to train the engineering professionals and equipping the students to become entrepreneurs of their regions.
Presently, PSREC has six undergraduate courses (B.E and B.Tech) and two post graduate courses with a total capacity of 420 in UG and 120 in PG within a span of 7 Years. The total strength of the institution is about 1600.
PSREC has well structured buildings and well equipped laboratories to suit the requirements of the latest technology. It provides a conducive learning environment and a healthy atmosphere. To promote curriculum of engineering education, the PSREC has recruited prolific faculty members with advance knowledge in teaching and research. The PSREC also invites successful engineering professionals from various reputed engineering institutions for their specific expertise to enhance teaching and learning process further.
PSREC has a separate internet browsing centre to facilitate the students to update their knowledge in recent developments. It also has language labs, air-conditioned research labs, seminar labs, seminar halls, conference halls and an advanced auditorium equipped with audio-video visuals.
PSREC follows its own operational strategies such as identifying the actual requirements of the students, using innovative teaching and learning methodologies, offering excellent technical training, involving the students with the engineering industry, monitoring the students performance with benchmark standards, placing the students in the renowned companies and enhancing rapport with industry and society that are implemented to prepare the students to succeed in their real life.
The Management of PSREC offers free education to the students who have secured more than 1100 marks in their higher secondary examination. This will be in process, if he/she passes in all subjects in BE Semester examinations.
The Institute has a Training and Placement cell. The cell interacts with the leading industries and arranges for campus interviews for the benefit of final year students of different disciplines. It takes effective steps to provide inplant training to both UG & PG students with a view to prepare and acclimatize themselves to the industrial environment. Every year, many students have been placed through the CENTRAL Placement Programme organised by the Anna University as well as by the college in various MNCs such as Satyam, HCL, Wipro, CTS, TCS, Aspire & so on.
