MOUNT CARMEL HIGHER SECONDARY SCHOOL

 The course of studies is designed as a preparation or the Secondary School Certificate Examination. The School year, which begins in June comprises of two Semesters; June to October and November to April. The regional language of the State Marathi (Second Language) is a compulsory subject and is taught from Std. I to Std. X. Art and craft, the base and foundation of Basic techniques in education are given due emphasis. Physical Training, Drill Gymnastic and outdoor games are compulsory for all. There is N.C.C. for boys and girls, Scouts group for boys, and Guides group for girls. Road Safety patrol Troop (R.S.P.) for boys and girls and a Social Service Group to which the students are encouraged to join

 . "Parents must be given to understand that they cannot dictate to the management and that the management has a right to say on what conditions they will admit or retain pupils in their school" (See rule 56, S.S.C. code.)

2. A parent or guardian of a new student, joining from home or from a private school has to produce an official Birth Certificate such as Municipal or baptismal Certificate, in support of the date of birth entered in the Admission from.

3. No child younger than five (5+) or older than seven years is admitted to the First Standard and a corresponding scale of age is fixed for the subsequent standards.

4. A new student from any recognized school cannot be admitted unless and until his leaving certificate is produced and moreover, countersigned by the Education Officer if the school is outside maharashtra State (Grant-Aid Code No.21)

5. Admission from an unrecognized school shall not be made on the strength of a Leaving Certificate. Applicants for admission from unrecognized schools shall on an affidavit being made by the parent/guardian before a magistrate, be subjected to a regular written test in all subjects and admitted after confirmation by the Education Officer. An official birth certificate will have to be produced.

6. Pupils applying for admission may be subjected to an entrance test. They will be tested in the Standard below the one they seek admission.

7. Candidate must pay in advance the Entrance fee, the fee of the first month together with the First Semester Fee.
