The Indian Institute of Technology Gandhinagar which is also known as the IITGN is located in Chandkheda which is equidistant from both Ahmedabad and Gandhinagar. The IITGN is the one of the eight IITs that has been newly opened in the recent years by the MHRD of Indian Government. Presently, IITGN is running from a temporary campus at Vishwakarma Government Engineering College, Chandkheda, it offers all sort of facilities and the quality of education which every IITs maintain at their campus. IITGN is being mentored by IIT Bombay. The institute is aimed at maintaining the dignity of the IITs with the modern day amenities. It is situated at the location like Ahmedabad which is the hub for some of the top institutions like IIM Ahmedabad and National Institute of Design.

Campus-

The campus of Indian Institute of Technology Gandhinagar is being run in the temporary campus at the Vishwakarma Government Engineering College, Chandkheda. The permanent campus of the institute is under construction. The government has allotted 400 acres of land on the bank of Sabarmati near Palej Village. The campus is planned to be run on the solar power and will be a lush green campus all around. The temporary campus of IITGN has all sort of facilities as classrooms, laboratory spaces, faculty offices, etc. Completely set up at the standards of the other IITs, the college is running successfully.

Placement

The placement at IITGN is good, during the year 2011-12, the campus placement was close to 91%. It has been maintained and every year a better placement record is aimed. Some of the major companies at the college placement at IIT Gandhinagar are-
