Model Instituteof Engineering & Technology is the first private engineering college in J&K state. The college was setup in 1998. It is a part of the oldest private educational enterprise named MIER, established in 1936.  The institute aims to provide high quality education in technical and in the field of engineering and other fields also. The teaching staff of MIET is highly qualified and dedicated. The achievements of the college is countless. This college is the first IBM software center of excellence in J&K. This was the first CISCO Networking and EMC academy in the state of J&K. MIET offers various facilities namely Computing facilities, Games and Sport, Transport facilities, Reprography section, Power Backup, Banking facility and Library. MIET has been developed over an area of more than 25 acres situated at a distance of about 13 km from Jammu Tawi Railway Station. There are three main instructional blocks including a separate laboratory and workshop. A hostel block and a guest house complex is also being planned in the future.

Placement

 MIET, Jammu has proved to be excellent in terms of placements in J&K state. From last three years, the college has achieved 100 per cent placements of students in highly reputed companies. Some of the organizations where MIET students have been placed are EMC, Infosys, Hewlett-Packard, TCS, Dell labs and many others.
