In 1980, four Army Schools and thirty three Army primary Schools were started under the aegis of Army Welfare Education Society (AWES) in Adjutant Generals Branch to assist in providing better education facilities up to 10+2 level for the children of Army personnel vide Army HQ letter No B/42044/ESSA/CW -12 dated 26 March 1980. Gradually few Army Primary Schools were raised to the status of Army High Schools/ Senior Secondary Schools (10+2) level.
Army School, Nahan (H.P) is one of a chain of thirty three Army Primary Schools/ High Schools was opened in the month of May 1982 in old re-appropriated barracks of 1 PARA (SF) by the Army Welfare Education Society (AWES) in Adjutant Generals Branch, which was registered as a Society with the Registrar of Societies.
