Microbiology is the study of micro-organisms, the discipline studies the growth, characteristics, lifecycle, and various other aspects related to these micro-organisms, which are invisible to the naked eye, and are majorly protozoans, algae, fungi, bacteria and viruses. These micro-organisms are found everywhere, and hence microbiologists mainly study them as well as their interaction with their external environment, i.e. their impact on the life of humans as well other organisms. The life of most of the organisms on this earth is very highly dependent on these micro-organisms, for all the positive and negative reasons as well. This includes the disease causing/ pathogenic micro-organisms ,and their impact on human health, plants and other animals. While, there are some other micro-organisms, which are very positively required in the food and health care industry, as fermenting agents, or as vaccines etc.
