1.JAMMU AND KASHMIR :  Cabinet approved a Bill to provide upto 10 % quota in jobs and educational institutions for economically weaker sections in the state 

  • Central cabinet Minister chaired by PM approved the Jammu and Kashmir Reservation (Second Amendment) Bill, 2019. 

2.Billionaire entrepreneur V.G. Siddhartha body was found in  Nethravati river near Mangaluru 36 hours after he went missing 

  • Cafe  Coffee Day founder was cremated in his family’s coffee estate in Chatanahalli .

 

3. On the basis of request of Chief Justice of India , Central Cabinet Ministry decided to  increase the number of Supreme Court judges from 31 to 34

  • The move comes  because the rising number of cases pending in the top court, which stands at nearly 60,000. 

4.India -Russia signs  Rs 1500 crore deal , India  to acquire R-27 air-to-air missiles.

  • This deal will help to equip Su-30MKI combat aircraft fleet of the Indian Air Force and for boosting its capabilities in beyond visual range warfare.

 

5. “Ghar Ghar Dastak Ghar Ghar Pustak” scheme of the Delhi Public Library was flagged off   by Minister of Culture Prahlad Singh Patel .

  •  To provide books to the citizens of Delhi, especially to resettlement colonies, slums and rural areas. The Minister of Culture visited the mobile library and encouraged students and young readers to develop reading habits.

6.GOA : Following the footsteps of Andhra Pradesh the state Govt of Goa is now planning to reserve 80% jobs in industrial units   for people of Goan origin.

  • Chief Minister Pramod Sawant informed  that “60% to 80% of jobs” would be on a permanent basis.

7.NASA’s Transiting Exoplanet Survey Satellite (TESS) recently discovered new dwarf star and planetary system named as TOI 270. It is located about 73 light years away from Earth, and in the constellation Pictor.

  • Its members include Dwarf star named TOI 270, which is 40 % smaller than the Sun in size and mass, and three exoplanets (planets outside solar system). TOI 270b, TOI 270c and TOI 270d.  These three planets orbit their star every 3.4 days, 5.7 days, and 11.4 days respectively.    

8.    Almost 1,000-year-old Shawala Teja Singh Temple located in Sialkot city of Pakistan, which was sealed for the last 72 years, has been re-opened for devotees for the 1st time since partition.

  •  Decision to reopen temple was issued by Pakistan Prime Minister.

 

9.Infosys launched its state-of-the-art Cyber Defense Center in Bucharest, Romania. 

  • This Defense Center is an expansion of services delivered via Infosys. Digital Innovation Center which opened in Bucharest in early 2019.

 

10.The 22nd National Conference on e-Governance 2019 will be held in Shillong, the capital of Meghalaya.

  •  This will be for the first time this mega knowledge sharing event will be organized in the north-eastern region of the country.
