Eight Indian student win IELTS Scholarship Award 2013
Pune'sJahnaviMirashi and seven other Indian students have been declared as winners of the British Council IELTS Scholarship Award 2013 and will receive Rs 3 lakh each towards the cost of tuition fees as part of the scholarship a statement issued by the British Council said. Five winner will pursue fulltime post-graduate programmes in the United Kingdom and three others will study in Canada , Australia and USA
This year, there has been an even spread of winners from across India. Janvi Thaker Kolkata ,Gurjot Singh Garcha Ludhiana, Avrina Jos Joslin Thambi Viluppuram, Tamil Nadu, Shraddha Kaur Gurgaon, Pramita Roy Kolkata Sadia Zafar Navi Mumbai, and Gowri Rastogi Bangalore were declared winners.
Congratulating the award winning Indian scholar, Sarah Deverall, director, British Council of India, said "We are happy that our tests scores are fast becoming the global benchmark in evaluating students' skill in IELTS ; which is designed to evaluate the ability to communicate in English for immigration, educations and professional accreditation worldwide."
IELTS is now accept by more than 8,000 educational institutions, employers, professional associations and governments in 135 countries around the world - including over 3,000 institutions and programs in the USA as a measure of English language proficiency.
