Placement Criteria: The placement criteria for the post of MR Musician in Indian Navy includes three stages. Firstly the Navy will take a Written exam which is based on general ability. Then the qualified candidates of Written exam is called for a Physical test in which the candidate has to complete a 1.6 km within 7 minutes, 10 push-ups and 25 squat-ups. After this the qualified candidates have to go through a Medical test.
Job Details
Qualification : Candidates should have passed the 10th standard (Matriculation examination). The candidates should have command on string, keyboard, woodwind, brass and percussion instruments of both western and Indian origin.
Age : 1st October 1991 to 30th September 1995. Means the age of the candidates should be between 17-21 years.
Ability : Should have proficiency in western notation, aural aptitude, knowledge of Theory of Music and actual practical skill on any Musical Instrument.
Pay Scale : During the training period, an amount of Rs. 5700 is given to the sailors. After the completion of the training period the sailors are put into the pay band of Rs. 5200-20200. In addition the sailors are given to a Grade pay of 2000 + MSP of 2000 + DA.
During the entire period of training and after that, sailors get books, uniform, food, accommodation without any cost. They get travel concession in the railways. The education of the children and house rent allowances of sailors are also admissible.
After the retirement, they get Pension, leave encashment, Gratuity for the services they provide to the government.
How To Apply : Candidates may download their application form from the INDIAN NAVY site, fill it in capital letters and send that to “The Commanding Officer, (for Director of Music), INS Kunjali, Colaba, Mumbai- 400 005 on or before 19th April, 2012. Along with the application form the candidates have to send following documents attested with a gazetted officer only.
1. matric equivalent passed certificate for the verification of the candidate’s age.
2. Domicile certificate.
3. Mark sheet of matric equivalent passed exam.
