NEW DELHI: Delhi University's Central Placement Cell (CPC) launched employability test where more than 150 students appeared for the computer based test on Friday. Reports say that nearly 7000 students have appeared for the exam and Delhi University has tied up with AMCAT (Aspiring Minds Computer Adaptive Test) to test the aptitude capability of the students. Another 7,000 students have registered their names for this test, of which only 1,200 are sitting for the exam on Saturday. The exam comprises of various sections such as logical ability, English comprehension, quantitative ability, personality assessment and other domain modules of specific skills.

The test was formally launched by the vice chancellor of DU, Dinesh Singh, who said that this will help both the students and the university to find the areas where the students need to work on.

Based on the test, each assessed student would receive AMCAT's Seven-Stroke Employability feedback - a detailed personalised report with scores on their performance on each module - that helps to understand the suitability to a sector and functional area. The tests will be conducted at various venues in the North and South Campus by January end.

"The test is a reality check for students to understand their industry readiness and employability. Moreover, it levels the biases in hiring and help recruiters select by merit. We are expecting a good performance by DU students as they are among the brightest students in the City and also Delhi has topped in our previous test on 53,000 engineers across the country. We will declare the results and a detailed report in two days," said Himanshu Aggarwal, co-Founder and CEO, Aspiring Minds. While there are around 21,000 DU students registered with the CPC.

AMCAT's is considered India's largest employability Test and more than 75 companies including MNCs use Aspiring Minds' recruitment solutions, including HCL, Sapient, Ericsson, ITC, SBI Life, Nokia, Keane, and Accor Hotels and has aided over 12,000 freshers to get a job on merit in the last year.
