India Olympic Association Suspended by International Olympic Commitee
The IOA (India Olympic Association) has been suspended from the Olympic. The IOA will not be receiving funds any more from the IOC and no official member of IOA will be invited by IOC to attend any of its events like Olympics and Paralympics.
The Indian athletes will not be permitted to compete under the tricolour but they can compete under the IOC flag.It is expected that the Olympic Council of Asia and Commonwealth Gmes Federation to follow suit, which will result in similar sanctions as far s the Asian Games and Common Wealth Games are concerned.
In the past few days, the IOC had been threatening- in a series of letter to slap sanctions on India to follow sports code of government in IOA elections, which is against the Olympic charter. The IOC has interpreted the adherence to the sports code as "government interference in the Olympic movement".
As the suspention came just a day before the IOA elections, so top offocials said that they will proceed as per schedule.IOA asked to coduct polls as per its own Constitution and the sports code.
IOA president Vijay Malhotra told TOI "we are moving ahead with the elections as we have not received any official communication yet from IOC and if we get that ,we will place it before AGM of IOA tommorow".
IOA's incoming president Abhey Singh Chautala stated "the decision is one sided".He also told reporters "IOA has sent a letter to IOC regarding sending two officials to discuss the issue but there was no response from IOC.So, it is one-sided decision".
IOA was asked to follow the Olympic charter then the IOC gave the first suspention warning on November 23rd and second warning came afte five days.
Current sportspersons and some former also agree with the IOC's decision infact they feel that it is an opportunity to cleanse the mess in IOA.
Sports Minister Jitendra Singh said "IOC's decision is unfortunate for the sporting community.I still don't know the details but once we learnt about the IOA mess and we also wrote to the IOC but there was no response".

PROS OF DU NEW PATTERN
1. 1. Each and every candidate will get a laptop for first year studies.
2. Extracurricular activities like Sports/ NCC /NSS etc.
3. One of the major benefit is that if any student want to leave college after two years of completion of degree course then he/she will able to receive a Diploma degree nad can return to the university any time to complete their education.
4. If anyone will want to leave college after 3 years of completion then university will give he/ she a bachelor degree with a Major subject but after four years they will be able to get a Bachelor Honours/B.Tech degree with their Major subject only.
5. DU focuses on the overall growth of the candidates as they can accept each and every challenge and to prove themselves globally.
CONS OF DU NEW PATTERN
1.The only disadvantage of this pattern is one extra year for honours courses and in today’s time very few people want to waste their time on it.
